## 10-step shade scales for every palette colour

## Colour harmony — what each mode means

### Complementary & Split

**Complementary** — the colour directly opposite on the wheel (180°). High contrast, bold, vibrant. Best for CTA emphasis. **Split-complementary** — the two colours adjacent to the complement (150° and 210°). Slightly softer and more nuanced.

### Triadic & Tetradic

**Triadic** — three colours evenly spaced (120° apart). Visually rich and balanced. Popular in illustration and branding. **Tetradic** — four colours 90° apart. Most complex harmony; works best when one colour dominates the composition.

### Analogous & Monochromatic

**Analogous** — colours adjacent on the wheel (±30°). Naturally harmonious, cohesive, calming. Found everywhere in nature. **Monochromatic** — varies only lightness and saturation of a single hue. The most restrained and elegant palette for minimal UI design.
