A notepad that stays on your device
This is a plain, distraction-free place to write — a quick note, a draft, a snippet of code, a list you'll paste elsewhere. Everything you type is saved automatically in your browser as you go, so if you close the tab and come back, your text is still here. The word, character and line counts update live at the bottom.
Where your notes live
Your text is stored in this browser's local storage — on your own device, in this browser, for this site. It is never sent to a server, synced to an account, or seen by anyone else, which is exactly why there's no sign-in. Two consequences worth knowing: your note won't appear in a different browser or on another device (there's no cloud to sync through), and clearing your browser's site data will erase it. For anything you want to keep for good, use Download .txt to save a real file.
Comfort options
Mono switches to a monospaced font (handy for code or aligned text); Bigger text increases the size for easier reading. Combined with the site-wide calm and dyslexia modes in the header, you can tune the writing surface to what your eyes prefer.
Download formats
Pick a format and hit Download: .txt plain text, .md Markdown, .rtf and .docx (both open in Microsoft Word, Google Docs, Pages and LibreOffice), or .html for the web. The Word and RTF files are generated on your device too — the note is built into a real document in the browser, with nothing sent anywhere.
Privacy
Nothing you write leaves this device. There is no server in the loop, no analytics on your keystrokes, and no account harvesting your drafts — unlike most “free” online notepads, which store your notes on their servers. Write freely.
